2025-05-15
Saudi Food and Drug Authority The Saudi Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) was established by Resolution No. (1) of the Council of Ministers dated 1 July 1424 and is an independent legal entity reporting directly to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. The State Food and Drug Administration assumes the procedures, implementation and supervision performed by existing agencies. The main objectives of the SFDA are to ensure the safety of food, the safety of human and animal medicines, the safety of biochemical substances, and the safety of electronic devices related to human health. To comply with the requirements of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), exporters/importers trading in food products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) must clear their food consignments at Saudi customs and verify compliance by obtaining a Certificate of Conformity (CoC).
We are the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (We offer SFDA product compliance certification services through various food and cosmetics testing laboratories and CoC providers. We issue certificates of conformity for food and cosmetics consignments from selected countries destined for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect consumers. While most products entering the Saudi Arabian market must comply with the authorities' requirements, product safety requirements and regulations are also in place to mitigate risk, improve quality, and ensure safety during use.
Each product's related products must meet specific SFDA standards. Pre-shipment inspection (for food only) compares the goods to shipping documents and verifies physical/labeling requirements. After a successful document evaluation and pre-shipment inspection, a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) will be issued. For cosmetics, an eCosma number is required and displayed on the CoC.
Because regulations and compliance requirements can present challenges for companies navigating new territories, we can ensure your products successfully meet Saudi Arabian standards. Our expertise and experience help you enter key markets effectively while ensuring objectivity and integrity.
