Vegan Lifestyle: A Good Antidote to the Rush of Life
2025-05-15
Long-standing vegetarian culture
Vegetarianism has a long history in my country. The Northern Wei Dynasty's "Qi Ming Yao Shu" (Essentials of the Qiming School of Medicine) describes eleven vegetarian recipes, making it arguably my country's earliest vegetarian cookbook. Qing Dynasty scholar Zhu Xishou also stated, "A vegetarian diet keeps the qi clear." Even in modern and contemporary times, prominent figures have actively promoted vegetarianism. These include Liang Shuming, the renowned Henan opera performer Chang Xiangyu, Jacky Cheung, and actress Liu Tao. Even in sports, where we might think a vegetarian diet is impossible, there are strict vegetarians, such as renowned American track and field athlete Carl Lewis. Speaking about his experience as a vegetarian, he said, "In fact, my best track and field performances were in my first year as a vegetarian."
Stylish vegan clothing
Young Korean artist SungYeonju cleverly uses the unique textures and textures of food to create a series of "vegetable dresses" that have become popular on the Internet.
Actress Gao Yuanyuan also posed for PETA Asia in a campaign titled "Vegetarianism from the Heart," urging the public to abandon meat and embrace a healthy, animal-friendly vegetarian lifestyle. Her outfit, made from a patchwork of lettuce and cabbage leaves, was complemented by a red chili pepper necklace, creating a playful look.
Benefits of a Vegetarian Diet You Don’t Know
If you don’t want to be “forced” to choose to be a vegetarian for the sake of animals, the environment, and humanity, then vegetarianism is also necessary for ourselves.
British scientists have discovered an interesting phenomenon in a study of 8,170 participants: frequent meat consumption can lead to a decrease in IQ. The study, conducted in a laboratory, investigated the dietary habits of women aged 30+ and men aged 10+. Of these, 4.5% reported a vegetable diet, while 123 participants preferred meats like fish and chicken.
After measuring their IQs, the researchers found that those with higher IQs in childhood did not see much improvement due to their preference for meat, while those who loved eating vegetables saw a significant improvement in their IQs.
The study also found that most vegetarians were women, well-educated, and of relatively high social status. Meat lovers' IQs improved by only an average of 15% compared to their childhood, while vegetarians saw an average improvement of 38%, a significant difference. The researchers note that the relationship between IQ and dietary habits becomes even more pronounced when the social background and educational level of the respondents are taken into account.
There is also a lot of evidence showing that people who like vegetarianism also have a very low risk of heart disease; people who eat less meat will gradually reduce their blood pressure. This new research also explains why people with high IQs are less likely to suffer from heart disease.
It can be found that eating habits not only affect IQ, but also have a huge impact on health. It has been proven that eating animals is the root cause of many infectious diseases, and eating animal products is the root cause of many chronic diseases (such as heart disease, stroke or diabetes).
Starting with yourself and others, practice a vegetarian lifestyle in every little detail
Put a plate of vegan cookies or chocolate cakes in the pantry for colleagues to try. They'll undoubtedly appreciate how delicious food can be without animal fats. Bring a vegan dish to an informal lunch gathering, or give a vegan gift to a friend on a special occasion. This will subtly encourage everyone to experience the appeal of a vegan lifestyle.

Despite the advancement of science and the prosperity of society, the human ideal of a vegetarian diet will never be restricted by time and space, nor will it be eliminated by society, because the precious knowledge gained by ancient sages from life experience of past generations is enough to prove that: "Vegetarianism is the fashion that never fades."
After a busy day at work, are you feeling exhausted by the constant honking of horns outside your window? Why not manually "isolate" yourself from the world? Prepare a meticulously prepared vegan meal for yourself and truly experience the "vegan" lifestyle of "preferring to eat without meat rather than live without bamboo"? Perhaps this is the perfect antidote to the whirlwind of life!
