DKNY launches Ramadan fashion collection

2025-05-15

With an eye on the billion-strong Muslim consumer market, fashion brand DKNY is launching its first Ramadan-themed fashion collection.

The new collection, featuring high necklines and low hems, includes miniskirts, long-sleeved blouses, and shorts, and is considered both fashionable and culturally appropriate for most Muslim women. Pakistani commentator Bina Shah described the collection as casually chic, trendy, and elegant, inspiring Muslim women to seek both glamor and modesty.

Two famous masters in the Middle Eastern fashion world: Dubai-based designer Tamara A1 Gabbani and Kuwaiti-born Yalda Golsharifi, editor of Styles fashion magazine, are responsible for designing fashions that will be published in DKNY's fashion album.

The launch of the new summer collection coincides with the opening of the brand’s new Middle East homepage.

DKNY isn't the only Western brand trying to reach wealthy Muslim shoppers. Last month, the Associated Press reported that a growing number of luxury brands in London were preparing for Ramadan. Middle Eastern shoppers flock to the city to buy luxury goods before Ramadan and during Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that ends the holiday.

Alas, American fashion fans keen to stock up on Ramadan-inspired accessories will have to make a long trek, as the collection is only available in the Middle East.
