Kathmandu, Germany - Soaltee Crowne Plaza and LSG Sky Chefs Kathmandu officially announced that their airline catering plant near Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport recently obtained halal certification. The plant is operated by Soaltee Crowne Plaza, the country's premier luxury hotel, with the technically skilled and advanced management of LSG Sky Chefs, the world's largest airline catering provider.
The plant was certified as an airline catering plant compliant with halal standards by the chairman of the Brahim Halal Centre of Excellence, meeting all the requirements of strict halal food production. This plant was designed under the guidance and support of the Halal Centre of Excellence.
On the certification, Crowne Plaza General Manager Gupta said: 'We are delighted to obtain this certificate of halal compliance from a global body. This certification is a true reflection of our hard work and the excellent services provided by our team. We are also working closely with suppliers to ensure that quality and material standards meet and exceed the required specifications. We believe these efforts will help provide better service to our airlines as active partners in the future.'

The plant produces a total of 1,800 airline meals per day. It serves Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, Emirates, Dragonair, China Southern Airlines and others. They also serve VIP flights, regular charter flights, and charter flights carrying UN Nepalese troops to peacekeeping missions around the world.
