About the body
cRc (Chicago Rabbinical Council), headquartered in Chicago, is one of North America's most influential and well-known Kosher certification bodies, regarded as a benchmark for US Kosher certification and widely recognized worldwide. Since 1932, over nearly a century, cRc has served thousands of food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, chemical, consumer-goods, hotel, restaurant, and food-logistics companies, and — alongside OU, STAR-K, KOF-K, OK, and KLBD — is an AKO member shaping globally mutually-recognized standards.
SINOQUAL's service
SINOQUAL handles formula comparison, on-site factory audit, and certificate maintenance with one-on-one tracking throughout, helping products enter European, American, and global Kosher consumer markets.
The process
1. Submit the application; after initial review it goes to the body. 2. The body reviews the application (some bodies review free), sets the fee, and issues the contract and invoice. 3. Sign and counter-sign the pre-audit contract. 4. The body sends an inspector (rabbi) to schedule the audit (supplementary materials provided as needed). 5. After a passing audit, the issuance contract is produced. 6. The factory verifies and counter-signs the issuance details. 7. Receive the certificate; renew it annually thereafter.
What the audit covers
· Whether the raw materials on the application match those in the warehouse; · Whether equipment condition and production process comply with Kosher rules; · If ingredients for non-Kosher products exist, they must be isolated from Kosher products with no cross-contamination.
