The 2014 China (Qinghai) International Halal Food and Products Exhibition was held from May 15 to 18 at the Qinghai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Themed 'Green, Leapfrog, Cooperation, Win-Win' and 'A Window to the World for the Halal Industry, a Cooperation Platform for Green Development,' the exhibition showcased participating enterprises' well-known brand products and new products through product displays, business negotiations, technical cooperation and interactive exchanges, highlighting new achievements in the development of the Halal industry across regions, aiming to build a platform for Chinese and foreign businesspeople for economic and trade exchange and cooperative development, and to promote the healthy development of the Halal industry.

The exhibition area was 30,000 square meters, with nearly 1,000 booths in total. 960 enterprises from 37 foreign countries and regions and 28 provinces (regions, municipalities) participated, including 116 exhibiting enterprises from 24 foreign countries.

At the same time, Qinghai's Xining City, Haidong City, Haixi Prefecture, Haibei Prefecture, Hainan Prefecture, Golog Prefecture, Yushu Prefecture, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, the Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone, as well as Xining's Chengdong District and Datong County, held special displays, with 170 participating enterprises. 14 enterprises and bodies including Qinghai Baide Food Co., Ltd., Qinghai Lcaoyuan Food Co., Ltd., and the Qinghai Halal Food Industry Association held corporate image displays.

It is reported that Qinghai Province has nearly 1 million Muslims, accounting for one-fifth of Qinghai's population. About 90% of them live in the Hehuang River basin in eastern Qinghai centered on Xining. Currently, more than 2,000 enterprises and individual operators in Xining are engaged in the production of Halal food and products, accounting for 60% of the province, with the Halal industry's output value reaching nearly 3 billion yuan. The variety of Halal food products keeps increasing. Currently, among more than 2,400 counties and cities nationwide, 97.3% have Halal food enterprises, with about 120,000 catering and non-staple food operators, of which more than 6,000 are enterprises specializing in food production and operation.
