Ten of China's major ethnic minorities are Muslim, totaling approximately 200 million people. The Hui people are the largest Islamic group in the country. China has garnered attention from Thailand. Small-scale halal food producers in China, with little added value and lacking branding and technology, face difficulties in entering the international market. According to the Xi'an Commercial Affairs Office, halal products in many regions of the country do not meet standards, forcing consumers to purchase certified halal products in major cities.
Thailand promotes penetration of Chinese halal food marketThailand has identified the Chinese market, and its private sector is promoting its penetration into the Chinese halal food market. However, Thai products must obtain qualified halal certification to be exported to China. This also requires a deep understanding of Chinese halal culture and customs, ensuring that Thai products are distinctive and meet customer needs. However, given the diverse nature of China's market, the complexity and fierce competition across various regions mean Thai entrepreneurs need to understand Chinese government policies, develop marketing strategies, and ensure their products have compelling selling points.
