80% of its poultry products come from local farms, but they want to increase local sourcing and plan to buy more farms that meet its standards. The company has invested heavily in its factories and now processes more than 450,000 birds per week.
Four years ago, Gafoor spent £4 million on automation equipment and further capital investment to comply with UK/EU regulations, and is now about to launch its own brand chicken products.
Gafoor spokesman Dave Broxton said: “Our strategy is to become one of the leading suppliers of chicken products to the UK, both in the halal market and in the conventional poultry sector.
