Taiwan participates in the Crescent Rating System.

The Crescent Rating is a globally recognised independent rating system that allows hotels and service providers to rate themselves based on the services and facilities they offer to Muslim tourists.

Ratings are trusted by a growing number of Muslim leisure and business travelers who use ratings as recommendations when booking hotels for themselves and their families.

Crescent Rating System assesses the overall quality of hotelsHalal-friendlyThere are seven levels in total, from one to seven, with one being the lowest and seven being the highest.

"So when you dine in Taiwan, you can always sit down and enjoy the familiar taste of home." Tourism AdvocateCheng Yieh Yenexplain.

Hotels with one to three crescent moon symbols are considered "useful" for Muslim tourists.

They will be able to provide information on prayer times and directions, as well as information on nearby halal food and mosques.

Hotels with four crescents may provide information about prayer times and directions, as well as information on nearby halal restaurants and mosques. They may also offer some level of halal food service, halal breakfast, or room service. Alternatively, they may claim that all food in the hotel is halal, but this is not independently certified by a halal certification agency. Hotels with five crescents may provide information about prayer times and directions, as well as information on nearby halal restaurants and mosques. They may also have halal-certified kitchens or restaurants.

Hotels with a six or seven crescent rating take into account the needs of a halal-conscious traveler in most cases with their services and facilities. Generally, they only serve halal food and beverages, in addition to other family-friendly facilities.

Attracting the public are Taiwan's Muslim-friendly leisure farms, which have been boosted by support from the Taiwan Leisure Farm Development Committee and the Council of Agriculture, as well as the Tourism Bureau, which provides transportation and communications.
