Türkiye and Indonesia sign MoU on halal quality

On November 17, 2022, at the Halal 20 (H20) Summit held in Semarang, Indonesia, the Halal Certification Agency (HAK) and the Halal Product Assurance Organization of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (BPJPH) signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation on halal quality infrastructure.
The MoU was signed by HAK Chairman Mr. Zafer Soylu and BPJPH Chairman Mr. M. Aqil Irham, with the aim of developing cooperation between the two institutions through joint activities, particularly in the areas of training and information exchange, and collaborating on joint research to recognize in Indonesia halal certificates issued by halal certification bodies accredited by HAK.
At present, the Halal Certification Center has signed memorandums of understanding with relevant institutions in Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Algeria, Sudan, Kazakhstan, Qatar and other countries, aiming to eliminate technical barriers in trade, enhance the trade potential of Halal-certified products and services, and establish a reliable global Halal certification system.
In this context, the MoU signed with Indonesia, a member of SMIIC, will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and international cooperation in the field of halal.
