Kathmandu Air Catering Factory receives Halal certification

Kathmandu, Germany – Soaltee Crowne Plaza Hotel and Lufthansa Sky Chefs Kathmandu have officially announced that their in-flight catering factory near Tripura International Airport in Kathmandu has recently received halal certification. The facility is operated by Soaltee Crowne Plaza Hotel, the country's leading luxury hotel, and the highly skilled and advanced Lufthansa Sky Chefs, the world's largest in-flight catering provider.
The facility is certified as a Halal airline food facility by Brahim, Chairman of the Halal Centre of Excellence, and complies with all strict Halal food production requirements. The facility was designed with the guidance and support of the Centre of Excellence.
Commenting on the certification, Crowne Plaza General Manager Gupta said: "We are delighted to receive the Halal Certificate of Compliance from this global body. This certification is a true reflection of the hard work and exceptional service provided by our team. We are also working closely with our suppliers to ensure that quality and material standards meet and exceed the required specifications. We are confident that these efforts will help provide better services to our airline partners in the future."

The factory produces a total of 1,800 meals of airline food daily, serving airlines such as Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, Etihad Airways, Dragonair, and China Southern Airlines. They also handle VIP flights, scheduled charter flights, and charter flights carrying the United Nations Nepalese Army to peacekeeping missions around the world.
