2012 Thailand Health Food & Food Ingredients Exhibition opens at the end of March, with Chinese Halal food manufacturers poised to take off
The second Healthy Food & Food Ingredients Exhibition (HFIT) will open in Thailand on March 29. This exhibition is an ASEAN exhibition specifically held to highlight the development of healthy food and beverages, food ingredients, food additives and related industries.
In the realm of wellness, you can often see how the "health wisdom" of Thai spas maintains health based on age and physiological needs. Thai massage and spas offer contact massage and aquatic relaxation. The 2012 World Food Market Trends Report indicates that healthy foods, including nutritional supplements and health foods, as well as functional foods that delay aging and enhance brain function, are experiencing rapid growth and are currently a trend in the food industry.
Data from a Thai research study indicates that the total market value of nutritional and health supplements, including beverages and other liquid products, is approximately 20 billion baht (approximately 4.1 billion yuan). Functional beverages account for 42%, health foods and vitamins for 35% and 16% respectively, while children's food supplements account for the remaining 7%.
In 2011, the fastest-growing product in Thailand's food market was tea beverages, generating approximately 9.1 billion baht (1.86 billion RMB), followed closely by functional beverages, at approximately 4 billion baht (822 million RMB). In 2012, growth is expected to focus on new market segments, including whitening and beauty drinks and male sexual enhancement drinks.
The organizing committee of this exhibition stated that March 29-30 will be business customer days, and March 31-April 1 will be public days. Visitors will be able to find products and services that businesses are looking for, learn about various activities, and purchase health products.
Business clients will have the opportunity to engage in business matching and gain knowledge updates, exploring dietary supplement trends in Thailand and around the world. The President of the Thai Health Food and Supplements Association stated, "The use of Chinese herbal products is a new trend in the management and development of hot spring spas, helping to delay aging and maintain health." The event will also provide a comprehensive understanding of the ASEAN natural cosmetics market, the Singaporean cosmetics market, and the development of natural cosmetics in Indonesia.
"Health" is the soul of Halal food. Halal standards have gradually become a trend in the food industry. Southeast Asia, where Muslim countries are concentrated, has always been one of the main export markets for Chinese food manufacturers. This HFIT exhibition is undoubtedly a huge business opportunity for Chinese food manufacturers.
