2025-05-15

With 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide, global demand for halal food and products continues to grow annually, presenting a promising future. The 22 member states of the Arab League represent a significant consumer market for halal food and serve as export destinations for Chinese halal food.

Halal food is "green, pure and pollution-free", catering to the new demand of modern people for healthy food. Its consumer group has far exceeded the scope of Muslims. The demand for Halal market is expanding day by day. There is great potential for my country to develop the Halal food and supplies industry.

Current Development Status of my country's Halal Industry

It is understood that my country's halal industry has maintained a growth rate of around 10% in recent years. In 2006, my country's halal food trade exceeded US$2.1 billion, and the rapid growth momentum remained evident in the first three quarters of this year.

Chinese companies engaged in the production of Halal food and supplies mainly focus on the production and sale of beef, mutton and its ancillary products, clothing, and specialty handicrafts. This industry is mainly distributed in areas with a relatively high concentration of Muslims, such as the northwest, northeast, Henan, and Guangdong.

Advantages of my country's Halal Industry

my country, with a population of over 22 million Muslims, boasts a long history of producing halal food and supplies spanning over 1,200 years. my country boasts the lush grasslands of Northeast China, the grasslands of Inner Mongolia, and the naturally unpolluted grasslands of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, all of which produce some of the world's highest-quality forage. These abundant grassland resources not only guarantee a sufficient supply of halal food raw materials, but also ensure that the quality of halal ingredients such as beef and mutton produced on these grasslands fully meets the standards set by international halal food certification agencies. In recent years, economic and trade exchanges between Arab countries and China have significantly increased. Last year alone, total trade between Arab countries and China exceeded US$66 billion, a nearly 30-fold increase compared to 15 years ago. We hope that relevant Chinese companies will seize these opportunities and enter the halal market.
