The world of candy is an absolute minefield for vegetarians, vegans, and those on halal diets
There can be all sorts of hidden animal-based ingredients in places you least expect to find them, and knowing what you can eat can be very tricky.
So, what about our favorite candy? Skittles have been a delightfully sweet, juicy dessert for years, but can we eat them?
The good news is yes, most Skittles products are safe for vegetarians, vegans, and those following a Halal diet, but there are some exceptions:
Wrigley's Skittles
Wrigley's Skittles states: "Skittles were previously formulated with fruits, berries, (please note that there may still be unsuitable products on the market so you should always check the ingredients or choose products that are labeled 'suitable for vegetarians')
Skittles have removed the E120 cochineal, the name for the colorful pigment obtained from the cochineal insect.
