A. General Provisions

To provide consumers with legal certainty and convenience, and to standardize halal product labeling, businesses that have obtained halal certificates are obligated to display the Indonesian halal label on their products. The Indonesian halal label is issued by the Halal Product Assurance Organization (IPA).Halal certification issued by BPJPH is valid nationwide.

according toAccording to Articles 6 and 36 of Law No. 33 of 2014, "On the Guarantee of Halal Products," the Halal Product Guarantee Organization (BPJPH) has the right to promote, educate, and publicize halal products, and has the obligation to publish information on products that have obtained halal certificates.

This move aims to provide comfort, safety, security, and certainty for the public in consuming and using halal products, while also adding value for businesses that produce and sell halal products.

B. Intentions and Purposes

This circular aims to inform businesses of the disclosure of halal products and the obligation of those products that have obtained halal certification to be labeled with the Indonesian halal label as required.

The purpose of issuing this circular is:

To provide halal product consumers with certainty and comfort when consuming and using halal products;

To increase the added value of halal products produced and sold by operators;

Support the establishment of a well-ordered national halal ecosystem, particularly regarding the use of Indonesian halal labels on products; and

This is a form of public disclosure of information regarding the halal status of products traded and circulated within the Republic of Indonesia.

C. Scope

E. Matters to be Notified

Each has been fromBusinesses that obtain halal certification from BPJPH must, in accordance with laws and regulations, display the Indonesian Halal label on product packaging, specific parts of the product, or a specific location on the product to ensure certainty, transparency, and to provide the public and consumers with accurate information about the halal status of their products.

Every business owner with certified halal products must publicize this information through their own electronic media channels, social media, or other information and promotional media used for product marketing (such as websites, e-commerce platforms, etc.).

Businesses that have obtained halal certificates but fail to label their products with the Indonesian halal label may be subject to administrative penalties in accordance with laws and regulations.
