What is PKRT product registration?
In Indonesia, household hygiene products, or Perbekalan Kesehatan Rumah Tangga (PKRT), refer to a class of products used to maintain health and hygiene in the home environment. These products must comply with specific regulations to ensure they meet safety and effectiveness standards before being placed on the Indonesian market.
PKRT Classification
Category 1 (Low Risk)
Products with minimal health risks typically do not contain active or hazardous ingredients.
Category 2 (Medium Risk)
Products that may pose a moderate risk due to the presence of active ingredients or specific uses require additional safety information.
Category 3 (High Risk)
Products that pose a higher health risk due to the presence of potent ingredients (such as pesticides or disinfectants) must provide detailed documentation and undergo regulatory review.
How to register your PKRT
1. Identify your PKRT product category
Determine the classification of your product under the PKRT (Perbekalan Kesehatan Rumah Tangga) based on the category of household hygiene products and the specific regulatory classification.
2. Prepare necessary documents
Company registration and licensing documents, product specifications and labels, risk classification and assessment reports, clinical trial data for categories 2C and 3D, and declarations of conformity.
3.Gap Analysis
A written evaluation will be conducted of the administrative documents, technical documents, and applicable supporting documentation you submit.
4. Submit the application
Through Jacob's StarThe Drugs and Medical Devices Authority (Direktorat Jenderal Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan, Regalkes) submitted the application.
5. Pay PNBP fees
Complete the payment of National Non-Tax Revenue (PNBP) fees.
6. Evaluation
The assessors will verify and evaluate the risk level, safety, quality, and efficacy requirements of the PKRT product to determine whether the applicant is eligible for market approval. The assessment results will be presented in the following form: a. Market approval.
