Jakarta News– The Indonesian Food and Drug Regulatory Agency (BPOM) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the domestic cosmetics industry ecosystem through active participation in the Indonesian Cosmetic Ingredients (ICI) Expo and Seminar 2026. The event, held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at JIEXPO in Kemayoran, Jakarta, and hosted by the Indonesian Cosmetic Companies Association (Perkosmi), is themed "The Future of Innovative Cosmetic Ingredients: Technology, Safety, and Sustainable Excellence."

In her address, BPOM Director Taruna Ikrar expressed her appreciation for the continued success of the ICI as a strategic forum. The forum aims to promote the development of the upstream cosmetics industry, particularly focusing on raw materials as the cornerstone of producing safe, high-quality, and competitive products. "The theme of ICI 2026 aligns perfectly with global trends in the cosmetics industry, emphasizing the importance of technological innovation, safety, and sustainability. The synergy of these three aspects is key to achieving safe, high-quality cosmetics that benefit the public," said Taruna Ikrar.

The BPOM Director further explained that the cosmetics industry has enormous potential to drive national economic growth.
