Jakarta News– BPOM will be held by Martha Tilaar Group on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Screen X CGV cinema in Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.Future Beauty Talk 2026The event aimed to promote innovation and sustainability in the domestic cosmetics industry. It served as a platform for cross-departmental collaboration, allowing participants to jointly explore future trends, technologies, and development directions within the beauty industry.

Also present at the event were Marlyn Malsarah, a member of the Fifth Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia; Kilala Tilaar, CEO of Martha Tilaar Group; Eti Setiawati, President of PT Cedefindo; and Sancoyo Antarikso, President of the Indonesian Cosmetics Companies Association (Perkosmi).

This event is themed "Beauty Reimagined: Biotechnology, Health, and the Next Frontier of CosmeticsThe event, themed "The Transformation of the Global Beauty Industry," explored the increasing emphasis on scientific methods, health concepts, and sustainability. In her address, BPOM Director Taruna Ikrar stated that the beauty industry is no longer solely focused on aesthetics but has evolved into an ecosystem that integrates science, holistic health, and environmental responsibility.

According to BPOM data, the domestic cosmetics industry experienced significant growth between 2021 and 2025, with an increase of [percentage missing].64%Meanwhile, the number of cosmetics micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) has increased.49%Taruna emphasized that this growth needs to be balanced with compliance in terms of safety, efficacy, and quality to protect the public and maintain market confidence.

Furthermore, the government is continuously promoting the independent development of the domestic cosmetics industry by strengthening research and development of locally sourced ingredients based on Indonesia's highly competitive biodiversity. In this regard, the BPOM's role is to ensure strong regulation while supporting innovation through adaptive, collaborative, and risk-based oversight. This includes providing accelerated licensing services and mentoring to operators, particularly micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKMs).
