It requires that all goods entering the UAE and Gulf countries must provide a recognized Halal HALAL certificate and must be accompanied by a Shipment Certificate. This news is very important. To prevent customs clearance of Halal HALAL products from being blocked, Chinese exporters are advised to contact the entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau as soon as possible to verify the application procedures related to the Shipment Certificate. The Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), the standardization and certification authority of the United Arab Emirates (EAU), in order to unify Halal HALAL certification standards, has ordered that products supplied to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market with Halal HALAL certification must obtain Halal HALAL certification from a recognized body for the relevant specific product categories, and must be accompanied by a Shipment Certificate.
Therefore, it is very important to request and obtain a Shipment Certificate for each batch of goods before export, in order to prevent the goods from being blocked when they arrive at the destination customs. The request must be completed 5 days before shipment.
This update confirms the global trend of HALAL certification, namely the continuous supervision of the traceability of Halal HALAL-certified products to protect consumers. Some countries, such as the Gulf states, have already made it mandatory. From January 2018, it must be used for all destinations.
