Scope
This standard specifies the requirements that organizations (facilities and/or operators) of Halal products should follow at any stage of the entire supply chain in their production, supply and storage, including packaging, labeling, transportation, distribution and service provision.

General requirements
1. All products, their derivatives, products, parts and extracts should comply with the provisions of Islamic rules, as permitted or prohibited as shown in Annex B-1
2. At all stages of the Halal product supply chain, including receiving, preparation, packaging, labeling, transportation, distribution, storage, display and service, the procedures of Islamic rules should be followed.
3. All additives and raw materials used to produce Halal products should not contain any non-Halal ingredients; this should be supported by legitimate official documents stating their components, including packaging materials.
4. All Halal products should not contain any toxic substances or harmful contaminants considered hazardous to health.
5. All Halal products should be free from Najasah (impurity) contamination prohibited by Islamic rules.
6. Throughout the supply chain, all non-Halal products should be completely separated from Halal products to ensure their distinction and non-mixing, and to prevent their contamination.
7. Official bodies and authorities may take all necessary procedures to verify whether products meet the special requirements for Halal products, and may take appropriate procedures in accordance with other applicable regulations
8. In the production facilities of Halal products, the prescribed general and specific hygiene requirements should be observed.
9. Animal slaughter (Tazkeya) requirements should strictly comply with Islamic law rules.
10. All equipment, tools, production lines and related materials used for Halal products should be clean and should not be made of or contain non-Halal products.
11. When converting any appliance, tool or production line that has been used for or in contact with non-Halal products, it should be cleaned according to general cleaning rules to completely remove traces of non-Halal products. The transition from a non-Halal procedure to a Halal procedure should not be repeated on a continuous basis.
12. When cleaning or maintaining machinery or equipment in contact with Halal products, no detergent liquids, greases, oils or fats containing non-Halal ingredients or materials may be used
