Countdown Begins for the 4th International Halal Seminar in Nigeria

The seminar, organized by the Halal Certification Authority (HCA), brings together domestic and international stakeholders in the halal industry to discuss emerging issues.

At a press conference announcing the event details, Professor Ibrahim Oreagba, Chairman of the Halal Certification Authority, said the seminar marks an important milestone in HCA's ongoing efforts to strengthen the understanding and implementation of halal standards across industries worldwide.

Professor Oreagba, former head of the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), revealed that the highly anticipated seminar would be held on August 14, 2024 at the Radisson Hotel in Ikeja.

'The halal industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, not only in food and beverages but also in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, logistics, tourism and other halal ecosystems. This growth highlights the increasing demand for halal products and services, reflecting the expanding Muslim population and the growing awareness of halal principles among consumers of various backgrounds.'

Professor Oreagba noted that the theme highlights his organization's commitment to promoting growth, development, innovation and sustainability within the halal industry.

'We recognize that, in order to meet the changing needs of consumers and address global challenges, it is essential to integrate sustainable practices and cutting-edge technologies into our operations.'

The seminar will feature various speakers including industry experts, academics and business leaders, who will share their insights and experiences on the latest advances in halal certification processes, emerging trends in halal products, and the role of technology in improving transparency and efficiency in the halal supply chain.
