Russia: American Halal Cosmetics to Exhibit at the Moscow Halal Expo

Maya Cosmetics—a young American company—will exhibit a Halal-compliant nail polish at the Moscow Halal Expo held from November 16 to 18, 2017.

Halal cosmetics are increasingly popular among women. When it comes to beauty products, the Halal standard means that products contain no alcohol or animal-derived ingredients in the manufacturing process and involve no animal testing.

However, Halal nail polish must have one attribute—it must be breathable, or at least water-permeable, so that Muslim women do not need to scrape it off before each prayer.

As a young American company, Maya Cosmetics is the first company in the global market to meet all the standards. In 2016, the company launched its first product. Now the product range includes 30 nail polishes and 10 accessories. The company was founded by two friends, Javed Younis and Bilal Saeed. Company head Javed Younis has a background in the beauty industry.

Maya Cosmetics' products have been certified by IFANCA—the largest Halal certification body in the United States and one of the most famous certification bodies in the world. Laboratory tests have also proven that the nail polish is indeed breathable. This is a high-quality product for beauty salon customers.

Within one year of its establishment, the brand has won markets in 30 countries, including the UK, Malaysia and Pakistan, and is now planning to showcase its products in Russia. According to Madina Kalimullina, managing partner of the Moscow Halal Expo, the announcement about the brand posted on social networks aroused the interest of Russian Muslim women. Many of them ordered products and gave positive feedback.

The company founders will meet visitors at the lifestyle salon during the 2017 Moscow Halal Expo. The expo will be held at the Sokolniki Exhibition Center from November 16 to 18.

Halal product manufacturers and suppliers from 40 countries will participate in the 2017 Moscow Halal Expo.
