A Long-Standing Vegetarian Culture
In China, vegetarian culture has a long history. The Northern Wei dynasty's 'Qimin Yaoshu' introduced eleven vegetarian dishes and can be called China's earliest vegetarian cookbook. The Qing dynasty scholar Zhu Xishou also said: 'A vegetarian diet keeps one's qi unclouded.' In modern and contemporary times, famous figures have personally advocated vegetarian culture: master Liang Shuming, Henan opera artist Chang Xiangyu, singer Jacky Cheung, actress Liu Tao... Even in the field of sports, where we might think it impossible to maintain a vegetarian diet, there is a strict vegan - famous American track and field athlete Carl Lewis. Speaking of his experience eating vegetarian, he said: 'In fact, in track and field, my best competition results came in the first year after I went vegetarian.'

Fashionable Vegan Clothing
Young South Korean artist Sung Yeonju cleverly used the unique textures and qualities of food to create a series of 'vegetable dresses' that went viral online.
Actress Gao Yuanyuan also shot a publicity series titled 'Veganism from the Heart' for PETA Asia, calling on the public to give up meat and choose a vegetarian lifestyle that is both caring toward animals and healthy. This outfit was collaged from lettuce and cabbage leaves, with a chili pepper necklace around the neck, very interesting.

Benefits of Vegetarianism You Didn't Know
If you don't want to be 'forced' to go vegetarian for the sake of animals, the environment or humanity, then for our own sake, vegetarianism is also very necessary.
British scientists found an interesting phenomenon in 8,170 experimental subjects - frequently eating meat can lead to lower IQ. The scientists surveyed the diets of 30-plus women and 10-plus men in the laboratory, of whom 4.5% habitually ate vegetable-based foods, while 123 subjects preferred meat such as fish and chicken.
After measuring their IQ, the researchers found that those with higher IQs in childhood, due to their meat-preferring dietary habits, did not see much improvement in their IQ. Those who preferred vegetables saw a noticeable improvement in IQ.
The study also found that most vegetarians are women, well-educated and of relatively high social status. Meat lovers' IQ improved only 15% over childhood on average, while vegetarians improved 38% on average, a very obvious difference. Researchers said that if the surveyed subjects' social backgrounds and education levels are taken into account, the relationship between IQ and dietary habits is even more obvious.

There is also much evidence showing that vegetarians have a very low chance of heart disease; people who eat less meat will gradually see their blood pressure drop. This new research also explains to us why people with high IQs have a lower chance of heart disease.
It can be seen that dietary habits affect not only IQ but also have a huge impact on health. It has been proven that eating animals is the root cause of many infectious diseases, while consuming animal products is the root cause of many chronic diseases (such as heart disease, stroke or diabetes).
From Oneself to Others, Implementing the Vegan Lifestyle in Small Ways
Put a plate of vegan biscuits or chocolate vegan cake in the tea room for colleagues to taste, and they will surely feel how delicious food without animal fat can be. At an informal lunch gathering, bring a vegan dish for everyone to try, or on special days, give a vegan gift to friends around you, subtly letting everyone feel the charm of the vegan life.

Although science advances and society prospers, humanity's ideal of a vegetarian-based diet will never be limited by time and space, nor eliminated by society, because the precious knowledge that ancient sages gained from the life experience of generations is enough to prove: 'Vegetarianism is a never-fading fashion.'
After a busy day's work, do the incessant car horns outside the window also make you feel exhausted? Why not manually 'isolate' yourself from the world, carefully prepare a vegan meal for yourself, and feel with your heart the 'vegan' life of 'rather have no meat to eat than no bamboo where one lives' - perhaps this is the very remedy against a restless existence!
