UAE: University of Dubai Strengthens the Initiative for Dubai's Capital of Islamic Economy

Dr. Eesa Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, has stressed the importance of academic departments involved in the field of Islamic economic development, and the need to continue efforts to advance initiatives for Islamic economy.

During a meeting with Dr. Khalid Janahi, doctor and professor of the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, Dr. Eesa Bastaki said that government support for academic initiatives to develop Islamic economy is of vital importance, an initiative consistent with the vision of the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The meeting also emphasized the need for national universities to take practical measures to approve Islamic economy as part of the curriculum, in order to cultivate more capable experts and consultants in this economic field.

On this, Dr. Eesa Bastaki said: "The University of Dubai is also aware of the growing importance of Islamic economy, and this course as a discipline will help meet the requirements of Dubai and all the emirates. The education sector must take part in the effort to transform Dubai into the global capital of Islamic economy."

Dr. Khalid Janahi said: "The Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre will continue to support this initiative, strengthening the foundations of Islamic economy in the local as well as international markets in the fields of Islamic finance, Halal food, family tourism, the digital economy, Islamic design, the knowledge sector, and Islamic industry."

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue working together to strengthen Dubai's position as a global hub to attract investors, thereby consolidating the Islamic economic sector.
