PHDA arranged a seminar on Friday on "Halal Business Planning" to increase Pakistan's Halal trade. Twenty-five business representatives from a Malaysian delegation attended the seminar together with Pakistani traders. The Malaysian delegation will stay in Pakistan for a few days to jointly study the Halal market and its import-export requirements, and to establish a new industry in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, senior Malaysian educator Tan Sri Dato Dr. Syed Jalaludin bin Syed Salim said that Malaysia hopes to increase the volume of Halal business with Pakistan with the help of the local business community.

He also said they had come to Pakistan to investigate further production and service investment in the Halal market here. In talking with participants, PHDA Chairman Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan said that Punjab would fully support the Malaysian business community in every respect.

He said PHDA is the only recognized organization in Pakistan with investment in the field of Halal business on a global scale. He also said that Punjab is able to provide Malaysia with products that meet Halal requirements according to their needs.
