From December 20 to 22, the 2019 Thailand International Halal Expo was held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre. The 6th Thailand International Halal Science and Technology Conference, hosted by the Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University, was held concurrently, with many international institutions and organizations invited to attend.
HFC Vice President Tahir Iqbal and Senior Auditor Ifat Gulf were invited to attend the conference. They listened to presentations by numerous industry experts and scholars, and held friendly exchanges and discussions with JAKIM, SMIIC and other international institutions.

Excitingly, on December 21, HFC was honored to sign mutual-recognition cooperation agreements with CICOT (the Central Islamic Council of Thailand), HSCCU (the Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University) and HSIT (the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand).

Key contents include:
1. Establishing cooperation in Halal affairs, including standards, inspection, certification, scientific research exchange, education and quality-system implementation for Halal products and services carried out by the various research institutions;
2. Mutually recognizing each other as reference bodies for Halal inspection benchmarks;
3. Cooperating to develop unified or mutually recognized Halal standards or guidelines, so as to promote the common interests of Muslim consumers in both countries.
4. Mutually accepting Halal products exported to each other's countries that have been certified by the other party and bear the other party's Halal mark;
5. Allowing each other to use their respective names and logos as a "strategic partner" in marketing and promotional materials and on websites.
6. Supporting relevant cooperation projects initiated by each institution;
The signing of this mutual-recognition agreement is another major breakthrough for HFC following IHIA (the International Halal Integrity Alliance). Through ongoing persistence and effort, HFC is gaining broad endorsement and recognition from more and more international organizations and institutions, while also providing more authoritative assurance for our clients.
